BATTLE CRY: ECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL REFORMS
LEADERSHIP GOALS AND VISION
Angara believes that most of the countrys problems are rooted in the economy. He suggests that the government does three basic things: spend more money in basic education, skills training, primary health care and other forms of human resource development; modernize agriculture and ensure food security; and reform the bureaucracy and attain good government. He stresses that the country cannot be the next Asian tiger economy unless it funnels all its funds into human resource development, which he believes to be the common route to success of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.
His envisions a development strategy founded on four basic goals: education and job creation, food security and nutrition, clean and efficient government and genuine local autonomy.
